Alexandra Junior High School is an active grade 7 and 8
public school serving about 500 students in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. We
have an exciting learning environment that operates
on a foundation of
middle school
philosophy. Our unique setting allows us to
modify our school so that we can focus on the traits of the middle level
learners: student centred, block scheduling and patterned time-table, common
planning time, core curriculum and exploratory options in an age appropriate
context for learning (it’s age not size that counts), middle school and classroom
climate, dynamic intramural/physical activities programs, parental involvement
and support, and staffed with teachers who are committed to teaching young
adolescents.
